Reassessing Li Yuan-chia

31st July 2017

Following on from the Li Yuan-chia exhibition she curated at the Richard Saltoun gallery last year, Diana Yeh has been collaborating with the Henry Moore Institute, Sotheby’s and Musee D’Ixelles to reassess the legacy of this artist, who has until recently been little recognized, and to bring his work into wider visibility.

She has co-curated the exhibition Li Yuan-chia and the books of the LYC Museum and Art Gallery (19 May to 27 July) at the Henry Moore Institute with Dr Janette Martin, curator and archivist, John Rylands Library, Manchester. She has also contributed an essay to the Sotheby’s catalogue to accompany the Li Yuan-chia exhibition there (08 June 2017 to 1 August), and a biography of the artist to the catalogue accompanying the exhibition From China To Taiwan: Pioneers of Abstraction (1955-1985) at the Musee D’Ixelles, Belgium (15 June to 24 September).
