Dr Diana Yeh
I’m currently working as a Senior Lecturer in Sociology, Culture and the Creative Industries in the Department of Sociology, City, University of London.
My research interests lie in race and racisms, migration, postcolonialism, diaspora, youth and cultural politics, with a particular focus on constructions and contestations of British Chinese and East Asian identities.
Committed to working beyond academia, I’ve presented my research on national and international television, radio, press and other media such as Phoenix Television, Los Angeles; TRT World, Turkey; BBC Radio Four; Resonance FM and Time Out Shanghai, and at institutions such as the Wellcome Trust, National Portrait Gallery and Tate Britain. I’ve also curated and participated in a number of national and international exhibitions, events and festivals in the UK, Belgium, China, South Korea, including touring to four cities with the International Bookworm Festival in China. I’ve acted as a consultant for the Royal Geographical Society and worked on a Knowledge Exchange Partnership for Bristol University with Penguin Books.
